NGN India and UK Webinar

About this Technical Webinar:

The initial segment of the webinar provides an overview of the history and current state of substation automation. It highlights IEC 61850 standard which created a revolutionary phase in substation protection and control application. Initially, this standard was applied as a station bus, now it has broadened to include the process bus. The later part of the webinar covers virtualization, which has marked the beginning of protection and control application in the form of software deployment on third-party hardware, thus enabling the easy introduction of new players, increasing competition and fostering an innovation mindset. The discussion shall also touch upon the need for enhanced specification, engineering and testing concepts for ensuring adequate performance of the systems.
