Who We Are

We started the network in 2016. Today, CIGRE UK Women’s Network (CUKWN) brings together more than fifty women and men, working in the energy sector in the UK.

Our members come from across the breadth of the sector: energy producers and suppliers, network operators, technology companies, academia and researchers. They represent seasoned professionals, as well as new talent. All have the same goal — actively contributing to a platform for exchange and learning in order to promote women in engineering for energy.

Hello,

I am the Chairwoman of the CIGRE UK Women’s Network and delighted to have you on our site learning more about how we are promoting women in engineering in the UK.

Working with our Steering Committee, we have been growing the network to reach more female engineers in the power sector. We are a network run by members, for members. We offer practical support to help members help themselves to achieve their full potential.

In an industry which remains dominated by men, it is encouraging to come together and forge a pathway that helps us be successful, fulfilled, and passionate about what we do.
