OVERVIEW

With the Energy Net Zero University Outreach Initiative, we aim to increase engagement from university students on Net Zero Energy topics and encourage discussions around Net Zero targets and how our industry plays a crucial role in achieving the Net Zero 2035 and 2050 targets. The presentation will raise awareness of Net Zero energy topics by providing information on current global and national trends, emissions, and their consequences, as well as the UK’s and the world’s responses. We will overview the engineering challenges of decarbonising power, including statistics and methods to achieve the targets. Additionally, we will discuss various technologies involved in reaching Net Zero and their contributions, supported by AtkinsRéalis case studies. The technical presentation will also highlight career paths in Net Zero for students with different degrees. While not focused on recruitment, we will include slides for students interested in starting their careers with AtkinsRéalis.
