Speaker 2: Nicolas Manea
Title: Enabling revenue stacking in NESO and DSO markets
The government has committed to operate a Clean Power grid by 2030. According to NESO’s Clean Power 2030 (CP30) analysis, by 2030 the level of demand side flexibility can increase to four-to-five times today’s level and could reach 10-12 GW. To reach this desired level of demand side flexibility requires both NESO and the DSOs must further shape the markets to allow this volume. Revenue stacking has proven to be a great candidate in increasing liquidity in flexibility markets through allowing flexibility assets to deliver simultaneously on multiple services. This presentation firstly introduced the need and benefits of revenue stacking. Then explained how the industry sees different types of stacking. Finally, presented where we are now, and what are the actions we need to do in the future to fully enable revenue stacking across both NESO and DSO markets.
