Dear CIGRE UK NGN Members,

 It is that time of year again when we invite members to step forward and contribute to the future direction of our growing network by participating in the CIGRE UK NGN Committee Elections. This is your opportunity to help shape the activities, events, and initiatives that will continue to benefit our community and support young professionals in the energy sector. We are now accepting nominations for the following positions on the NGN Executive Committee for the upcoming term:

Positions Available:

  1. Chair
  2. Vice-Chair
  3. Secretary & Treasurer
  4. Communications Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Chair: Provide overall leadership to the NGN, representing the group in external communications and at CIGRE UK and international events.
  2. Vice-Chair: Support the Chair and step in when needed, helping to manage the overall strategy and operations of the NGN.
  3. Secretary  & Treasurer: Handle the administrative duties of the NGN, including meeting agendas, minutes, and coordination with other teams. Manage the NGN’s financial matters, including budgeting and reporting.
  4. Communications Lead: Oversee the NGN’s communications strategy, including newsletters, social media, and website content.

Nomination Process:

To submit a nomination, please provide the following:

  1. Full Name
  2. Position you are running for
  3. A brief statement (250 words max): Highlight your experience, skills, and why you are the right person for the role.
  4. Membership ID: Confirm your current membership status. If it is a collective member, please confirm the affiliation.
  5. Confirmation that you are eligible as an NGN: Confirm you are under age 35 at the start of the term of office.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. You must be a current member of the CIGRE UK NGN.
  2. You should demonstrate a commitment to actively participate in and support the activities of the NGN.
  3. Prior experience with NGN or other similar organisations is beneficial but not mandatory.

Important Dates:

  1. Nomination Deadline: 18th October 2024
  2. Voting Period: 19th October 2024 to 16th November 2024
  3. Results Announcement: 16th November 2024 (if minimum vote is reached on or before this date)
