At this joint event with SuperAIRE (Supergen Network Plus in Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energy) we will explore the evolving landscape of integrated energy systems in the era of decarbonisation and digitalisation. This workshop brings together critical topics at the intersection of power systems, emerging technologies, and advanced modelling. Key focus areas include the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for renewable energy integration, the strategic planning of hydrogen networks, and the economic assessment of multi-vector energy systems. We will also delve into novel sources of grid inertia, such as electrified rail transportation, and the complexities of whole system modelling, including the co-simulation of electrolysers and fuel cells within power system simulation tools. Furthermore, the workshop will highlight cutting-edge control strategies, such as Heterogeneous Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimisation, for delivering rapid and coordinated Fast Frequency Response. Participants will gain insights into both the technical and economic challenges and the innovative solutions shaping the future of resilient, flexible, and sustainable energy networks.
