Are you ready to step into a leadership role within the power systems community and help shape the future of early-career engagement in the UK? We are delighted to invite nominations for the following elected roles on the CIGRE UK Next Generation Network Committee.

Available elected roles

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary & Treasurer
  • Communications Team Lead

The responsibilities of each elected role can be found in CIGRE UK’s NGN Constitution, Chapter 3. For the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair, candidates should be able to demonstrate prior active engagement in NGN activities.

  • Enhance your leadership, communication and organisational skills while building contacts across the UK power systems sector.

Eligibility CriteriaTo be eligible, all candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Based in the United Kingdom.
  • A current member of CIGRE UK (Student, Individual, or via Collective Membership).
  • Welcome CIGRE UK members under the age of 35 (or in early-career) to apply, given NGN focuses on the next generation of professionals. (CIGRE NGN)
  • Important: You must be a member of CIGRE UK by the close of the nomination period (date: 30/11/2025) for your nomination to be valid.

How to apply

  1. Provide the necessary details and fill in the Jotform by clicking on the button below
  2. Attach a short personal statement in PDF format (no more than 300 words) indicating which role you are applying for and how you believe you can contribute based on your experience.
  3. Attach a short CV or summary of relevant experience in PDF format (education, work, involvement with CIGRE activities or equivalent).
  4. Once nominations close, a shortlisting/election process will follow and all candidates will be informed of next steps.

Timeline

  • Nomination open date: 02/11/25
  • Nomination close date: 30/11/2025*
  • Voting Period: About 4 Weeks after the Nomination Close Date
  • New committee term begins: Early January 2026
*NGN is holding its AGM on the 19th November 2025. All candidates submitted early before the AGM will be given a chance to introduce themselves during the AGM event. 

Non-elected Roles for CIGRE UK NGN Committee

Within the CIGRE UK NGN Committee, there are various non-elected roles as well (please refer to the organisation chart below). These include Membership Team, Events Team, Technical Team, Communications Team and Other Supporters.
