CIGRE UK is delighted to continue supporting the Birmingham Decarbonisation Summer School (BDSS) 2026 at the University of Birmingham — an inspiring initiative bringing together the next generation of engineers, researchers, and industry professionals to accelerate the energy transition towards Net Zero, which is open to CIGRE UK members, and all postgraduate students, early-career researchers and engineers!
As co-organisers, our CIGRE UK Next Generation Network (NGN) and CIGRE UK Birmingham Hub are proud to contribute to a programme that combines technical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world industrial challenges. BDSS 2026 will feature expert lectures, workshops, networking opportunities, and team-based innovation activities covering key topics including HVDC, renewable integration, power system operability, energy storage, hydrogen, AI for energy systems, resilience, and future grid technologies.
