EVENT OVERVIEW
The event, open to all, exploring the transformative role of AI in shaping a sustainable future, was co-hosted and organised by the CIGRE UK Women in Energy team and the SuperAIRE* team at the University of Warwick. In the first part, presenters explored cutting-edge applications of AI, including its role in optimising hydrogen production, improving wind energy yields, transport and enhancing the efficiency of data centres. The second part of the event featured visits to two labs, where the attendees observed how AI and renewable energy technologies are being developed and deployed. This was followed by a dynamic panel discussion on resilience in uncertain times, which offered actionable strategies for self-branding, networking, and building career longevity in a rapidly evolving world. The event ended with a networking session, to reflect on the day’s emotions and learnings.
Stay connected with CIGRE UK’s Women in Energy community for our upcoming Q3 event and there’s much more to come this autumn, including an exciting in person gathering. We look forward to welcoming you again soon!

*SuperAIRE: Supergen Network Plus in Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energy
SuperAIRE aims to establish a world-leading network connecting academia, industries, and policymakers across the spectrum of artificial intelligence (AI) for renewable energy. This includes generation, storage, transmission, distribution, and demand side management. It aims to create the conditions in which AI for renewable energy can be promoted faster than at present to boost the development and deployment of renewable energy. SuperAIRE incubates a Supergen AI + renewable energy research community seizing the opportunity to enhance the UK’s role as a global leader in the intelligent and digital transformation of the renewable energy sector. It not only exploits the transformative power of AI in different renewable energy sub-sectors but also addresses common challenges and optimise performance across the renewable energy ecosystem. CIGRE UK Women in Energy
CIGRE UK Women in Energy is a group of women and men, working together to forge a pathway for female engineers to build fulfilling careers in the energy sector. At a time when the energy system is changing, as a group, we think that promoting diversity in engineering will contribute to a more successful transition for power systems, their customers and citizens in the UK. Our members come from across the breadth of the sector: energy producers and suppliers, network operators, technology companies, academia and researchers. They represent seasoned professionals, as well as new talent. All have the same goal — actively contributing to a platform for exchange and learning in order to promote women in engineering for energy.
