Successful Hosting of CIGRE UK NGN’s 2023 AGM
The CIGRE UK Next Generation Network (NGN) is proud to announce the successful hosting of its 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 4th of December in Birmingham. We had over 30+ participants joining us both In person and virtually.
The past year has been noteworthy, with a series of webinars engaging a global audience and a memorable visit to the National Grid ESO control room centre.
The highlight of the AGM was the much-anticipated announcement of the CIGRE UK NGN Committee election results for 2024. The newly elected members are:
- Jiajie Luo, taking on the role of Vice Chair,
- Nan Chen, serving as the Secretary & Treasurer,
- Wei Gan, assuming the position of Communications Lead.
We extend our warmest congratulations to the elected officials and heartfelt thanks to all our members for their active participation in the election process.
Special recognition was given to Dr. Elisabetta Lavopa from GE Vernova HVDC for her enlightening presentation on “Modelling of HVDC connections and grids with high penetration of renewables: recent developments and future trends,” and to Dr. Melike Ayaz from National Grid ESO, who shared insights on “Accelerating the Transition to a Zero Carbon Electricity System: An Action Plan for Streamlining Connection Applications.” Their contributions significantly enriched the discourse on the challenges and opportunities within our industry. Our gratitude goes out to all the attendees, supporters, and committee members who played a part in making the AGM an event to remember.
